Soooooo, there’s been a rather big change in my life lately – my baby started kindergarten. She’s still getting used to the place and the people, and I’m adjusting as well, but all in all it hasn’t been as scary and stressful as I feared… yet.
With a whopping 5.5 hours all to myself daily there’s a whole lot I can get done, and hopefully the results will soon show in this blog!
(I’ve been meaning to do this comic strip for a few months now, but I only got around to finishing it now, so there we have it. This is exactly how I first heard her call me “mama” properly, and if it doesn’t quite make sense to you, then this post will clear things up a bit. )
My daily morning drawings sketchbook is now somewhere half-way done. I post those on my Instagram daily (or at least I try to) and I suppose that fills my “everyday deadline” void now that I do weekly blog posts..
All my freetime and energy now go into two projects: daily sketching and Boonka. The big plan is to finish Boonka by the end of this year. I’ve been lucky enough to have had a professional animator agree to mentor me on this project, and that alone is a huge motivator for me to stop procrastinating and get animating. I’m also playing around with the idea of doing a weekly vlog reporting on my progress (I’ve even shot some bits already) but I’m not sure how to best present it and if it’ll even be viable a few weeks in. What do you guys think? Is that something you’d be interested to watch in video form? As in, watching an animation project be created, step by step, with my thoughts, struggles and notes as I go along on a weekly basis? Or is just blogging about it every now and then enough?
Either way, back to the animatic I go now, have a lovely weekend!
