I’ve been animating for the past four hours or so and my wrist started hurting, which couldn’t come at a better time because it means I can have a justified break and write a short blog post! Yay for pain! (I’m aiming to finish this month’s animation battle entry tonight after Eli falls asleep, and it looks very doable if I don’t fall asleep myself.)
In the meantime, as I rest my drawing wrist, here’s a short summary of what I’ve been up to this week:
- I’ve painted the
townAugust gate orange. The full double spread, where on the left page I’ll write all the positive and cool things that happened, plus any cool quotes or advice I come across.
2. I’ve been making more of an effort to sketch while hanging out with Eli. Sure, she often wants to “help” or just sit on my head, but the more often I do it the faster she’ll get used to it and ignore it for the most part, like she does with my workouts (although she still insists on helping me stretch and lying down between the floor and me when I’m doing push-ups). Plus I should take full advantage of having a tiny baby model to practice kid proportions on.
3. The characters for “Deeps” are slowly coming together, I mostly get those done during my “morning pages”, but sometimes I manage to do more drawing alongside Eli.
4. Got around to watching The Handmaid’s Tale and I’m now hoping to get my hands on the book as well. I’m also itching to do more fanart.
I also tried to do some sketching by the pool we went to recently, but it didn’t come out that good, so it’ll stay forever hidden on the shameful pages of my sketchbook.
